Technology and 12-Step Recovery: What You Should Know
Twelve step groups and recovery maintenance approaches have existed and flourished decades before the first website or phone app was invented. But as technology permeates every aspect of our lives, many recovering addicts and alcoholics find themselves considering whether and in what way should technology be integrated into their recovery programs. This webinar examines the debates around this issue in order to answer two questions: (1) What are the potential costs and benefits of technology use in recovery? and (2) Who uses recovery technologies and in what contexts? A discussion of possible guidelines to consider when advising your patients in using recovery technologies concludes this presentation.
