Fundamentals of Trauma-Responsive Practice

Any mental health or substance use practitioner will encounter individuals with traumatic life experiences. It is a matter of ‘when’, not ‘if.’ The workshops in this certificate prepare you for that reality by providing you with a solid, practice-focused foundation to build your effective and ethical trauma-responsive practice.

Certificate Requirements:

All practitioners are welcome to take these workshops whether or not you are interested in the certificate. For those seeking a certificate, you are required to:

  • Successfully complete the 36 CEs listed below.
  • Submit a completed  ‘Fundamentals of Trauma-Responsive Practice’ workshop Verification Form”
  • Complete and submit the “Reflection and Professional Plan” form for our review.
  • Include  $150.00  for review and verification of your materials.

Interdisciplinary Trauma Certificate

CPT is retiring the Interdisciplinary Studies in Trauma Certificate (90 CEs) to allow participants to develop more specialized areas of practice that best fit with their unique professional development interests and needs. If you are currently admitted to the Interdisciplinary Studies in  Trauma Certificate, you have the option of remaining in and continuing with the current plan and program, or shifting your previous courses and credits to CPT’s new Fundamentals of Trauma Responsive Practice Certificate or/and  the Advanced Trauma Practice Certificate. Should you decide to switch, all of your previous workshops and CEs will count toward the new certificate.   We are committed to working with anyone admitted to the School of Social Work’s Interdisciplinary Trauma Certificate and happy to support your progress in either the former or the new certificates. Please contact us and we will assist you with reviewing your options and answer any questions you may have.

Pricing and Registration

Those who have completed the 36 Trauma-related CEs listed above may click below to gain access to CPT’s Online Foundations in Trauma Responsive Practice Page where you can submit your Workshop Verification and respond to Reflection and Professional Plan prompts.
