Vaping and the Adolescent Brain

January 17, 2020

Twenty percent of Minnesota high school students report using e-cigarettes during the prior month. Nicotine has serious implications on the developing adolescent brain as well priming the brain for subsequent drug use and mental illness. (Conway, et.al. Addictive Behaviors 2017) The Center for Practice Transformation invited Dr. Janna Gerwitz-Obrien, MD, FAAP a pediatrician and adolescent medicine fellow at the University of Minnesota to host one of the Center’s monthly webinars. The webinar was broadcast live on January 10, 2020 and is now available in the Center’s past webinar archive. Dr Gerwitz-Obrien provides valuable information to professionals that work with adolescents in any capacity.
