Engagement Initiative Begins at Kern BHRS

Tanya Line and Steve Carlson (MNCAMH Clinical Trainers) training the Kern California BHRS staff in Engagement Skills and Strategies. They are exploring Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs using a cup stacking and needs sorting activity. The objective of the activity is to help practitioners appreciate the challenges of recovery and some ways to engage a person in active recovery when they are struggling to have basic needs, such as food, shelter, clothing and safety met.
