I-RISE is a grant-funded* program, offered through the Center for Practice Transformation, that supports Minnesota’s practitioners from under-represented communities in fulfilling licensing supervisor requirements. Details and how to apply can be found here.

Certificate in Clinical Supervision

Have you completed 45 CEs in supervision workshops with CPT? If so, you are qualified to take the next step!

CPT’s Certification in Clinical Supervision requires the following:

  1. Register for CPT X599 . This gives you access to the two activities required to complete certification:
    • Workshop Verification Form
    • Responses to three reflection prompts

If you are seeking Board Approval:

Licensees are responsible for knowing their board’s requirements for those seeking to become licensing supervisors. The information below is a guide and not intended to substitute for a licensee’s understanding of their board’s expectations.

  • Minnesota Board of Social Work requires 30 hours of supervision training. Review BoSW’s requirements. Attest to meeting licensing supervisor requirements using the Board’s online services after completing supervision workshops.
  • Minnesota Board of Marriage and Family has pre-approved the following workshops to meet their 30 hours of supervision training requirement. Review BMFT’s requirements. Complete this form after completing the workshops below and ensuring compliance.
    • Core Competencies in Clinical Supervision: Crucial Concepts and Skills (12 CE)
    • Beyond 101: Negotiating and Utilizing ‘Self’ in Supervisory Relationships: Intersections of Culture and Power (6 CE)
    • Intercultural Supervision: Navigating Cultural Difference in the Supervisory Relationship (6 CE)
    • Ethics and Supervision: Utilizing a Decision-Making Model to Navigate through Rough Waters (6 CE)
  • Minnesota Board of Behavioral Health and Therapy requires 45 hours of supervision training. Please refer to each workshop description for its BBHT approval status. Review BBHT’s requirements. Complete this form after completing supervision workshops and ensuring compliance.
  • For individuals licensed outside of Minnesota, please check with your State’s Board requirements.

Supervision in Social Work Certificate

CPT has retired the Supervision in Social Work Certificate (74 CE) offered by the School of Social Work’s Series program. If you were previously admitted to the Supervision in Social Work Certificate, all of your previous SSW supervision workshops and CEs will count toward the new certificate or your previous plan of study should you opt to pursue that. We are happy to support your progress either way. Please contact us, and we will assist you with the process, review your options, and  answer any questions you may have.

Supervision in Social Work Certificate

CPT has retired the Supervision in Social Work Certificate (74 CE) offered by the School of Social Work’s Series program. If you were previously admitted to the Supervision in Social Work Certificate, all of your previous SSW supervision workshops and CEs will count toward the new certificate or your previous plan of study should you opt to pursue that.
