Attachment and Addiction: Implications for Treatment, Part 2

In this second webinar we will be exploring the treatment implications of conceptualizing addiction through the lens of attachment theory. Building from our previous discussion on addiction and attachment, we will consider clinical applications of attachment conceptualizations; mending the divide of impaired attachment by creating the capacity for attachment.

About the Presenter

ThanhVan Vu, MPS, LADC, LPCC

ThanhVan Vu, MPS, LADC, LPCC, holds a Master’s degree in Integrated Behavioral Health from the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities. Van has had diverse experiences in her background as instructor and clinician. In her role as clinical trainer, Van believes in empowering clinicians with knowledge and skills to cultivate sustainable, recovery oriented collaboration with clients.

She previously taught as adjunct and resident faculty in a graduate counseling program at the University. Her areas of instruction were in counseling theory, family therapy, human development, and differential diagnosis. She also as developing expertise in intersubjective psychotherapy emphasizing attachment theory through her training with Minnesota Institute for Contemporary Psychoanalysis and Psychotherapy (MICPP).
