Our Origins

In 2012, the Minnesota Department of Health and Human Services (DHS) launched a Center of Excellence to serve the needs of Minnesota’s behavioral health workforce. We, the Center for Practice Transformation [Fka: Center for Chemical and Mental Health (MNCAMH)] responded to a call for proposals and was the successful recipient of the initial grant. That grant was the first of several that supported the growth of CPT as a state-wide initiative to improve the quality of clinical care for mental illness, substance use disorders and co-occurring disorders by accelerating the adoption of best practices across Minnesota’s behavioral health workforce through workshops, trainings, and resources.
