Contracted Clinical Supervision: Navigating the Balance of Transparency, Support, and Accountability

Participants will engage in learning and discourse related to contracted clinical supervision – technical and relational aspects of productive partnerships. Participants will discuss and learn about the unique benefits and challenges in providing contracted clinical supervision to support increased learning and positive, more effective supervisor-supervisee relationships related to contracted clinical supervision. Techniques and content will focus on maximizing learning, accountability, and positive results for clients and supervisees.

After completing this workshop, participants will be able to:

  • Explain basic components of supervision.
  • Demonstrate understanding of benefits and challenges related to delivering contacted clinical supervision.
  • Demonstrate skills in providing structure, rigor, and transparency in the learning process to support supervisee’s development.
  • Differentiate between strategies that promote transparency and accountability and clinical skills that offer support within the context of the supervisory relationship.

About the Presenter

Christina Haddad Gonzalez, MSW, LICSW

Christina Haddad Gonzalez is the Director of Student Support Services at Richfield Public Schools where she is responsible for the oversight of school social workers, outreach workers, and guidance counselors. Support services partner deeply with schools and parents to support academic achievement for all students. Previously, Christina was the Senior Program Director at the Northside Achievement Zone (NAZ) and also worked at Washburn Center for Children managing the school based mental health program for Minneapolis and Bloomington Public Schools.

In addition, she served with The Family Partnership for 10 years, first as an in home and play therapist for six years and was then appointed Director of In-Home Services. Christina is also a Community Faculty at the University of Minnesota in the School of Social Work and serves on their Advisory Council. Christina is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW). She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Minnesota in Child Psychology and Spanish/Portuguese—and obtained her master’s degree from the University of Minnesota in Social Work.
